The Best Way To Use A Daily Devotional

There is a right and wrong way to use a Daily Devotional and if you want to reap the rich benefits, you must learn the right way to use them.

What a lot of believers do is to open their daily devotional each day and go straight to the author's commentary on the day's passage. They read through and whatever they can glean from what is said, that is it for the day. This is a wrong way to use a devotional.

The idea behind a daily devotional is to help you to read the word of God daily and allow the Spirit of God to minister to you first hand. Whatever commentary is included is only supposed to be an additional bonus. It is never intended to be a substitute for your personal daily study of God's word.

Spiritual growth comes through learning to "chew" God's word for yourself as you meditate on it daily , comparing scriptures with scriptures. In this way, you learn yo hear from God through His word and you also learn to receive revelations and ministrations from the Spirit of God through the word of God.

All these wonderful benefits can be forfeited or greatly compromised if you form the habit of using your daily devotional the wrong way.

Our Living Word For Today is specifically designed to help you maximize your time with the word of God everyday.

The Pastor's commentary on each day's passage is hidden away and it is after you have read the day's passage and meditated on it that you are to click on the Pastor's comments to receive additional insight to what God has already ministered to you. That way, you will be able to make the most of this Daily Devotional.

Please note that this program has been designed in such a way that you can only access the current and previous day(s) or month(s) - not the future.

Navigate Easily As You Read
The easiest way to move within the reading page and the reading box is through the use of direction keys (the page-up and page-down keys) on your keyboard.
Click within the reading box and then hold down the page-up or page-down key depending on which direction you want to go and it will move smoothly making reading very easy.
To move the entire reading page up or down, click outside the reading box and depress the page-up or page-down key depending on which direction you want to go.

Secondly, you can also use the scrollbars to move up and down within the reading box.
Simply place your cursor on the inner scrollbar (to the right). Then click and hold the left mouse button and move it up or down as you wish.
To move the entire reading page up or down, place your cursor on the outer scrollbar (to the right) and follow the same procedure.

If your mouse has a scroll roller, its even more fun. Just click within the reading box and scroll up or down. Or to move the entire reading page up or down, click outside the reading box and scroll.

The included NOTEPAD is to make jotting easy for you. As you read, jot down whatever ministers to you in the NOTEPAD.
When you are through, you can either enter your email address and send it to your mailbox or simply copy it, paste and save to your word document.
That way, you can have all your jottings intact and be able to refer to them whenever you wish.

Make sure you save your jotting (by sending it to your mailbox) before changing or refreshing the current page as this will automatically delete whatever is written in your NOTEPAD. For instance when you want to choose another date from the Date Picker.

If you have any questions or need further clarifications /explanations on any day's passage or related issues, contact us using 'Ask The Pastor ' option (on the bottom menu) and the Pastor will be happy to respond and answer your questions.

May you be richly blessed as you use this Daily Devotional program,
in Jesus' name, amen.
